Welcome to the sequel to the ever-popular Chess Opening Songs. Inspired by my choir friend Rachel, welcome to Pokéchess, where chess openings meet Pokémon from the Kanto region (think gen one OG 151)! Chess x Gaming! Let's get to it!
Sneaky traps, offensive pressure, high risk, high reward
Splash around, weaken your own position, hope for the best
Defensive shell to start, counterattack like a champ
Sacrifice early for fiery attacks, pieces flying at the King
Explosive opening that can self destruct with any misplay
Sleepy, slow, and super powerful
Positional, deeply rooted, and squeezing
All in, center tension, rampaging
Patiently wait then venomously attack
Anything you can do, I can do the same
So stupid but so fun
Rare, high flying, offbeat, will zap you
OP, mindgames, strategic
Attack from all sides, throws opponent off literally
Dragons flying across diagonals, can be calm and solid, can be hyper aggressive
The best starter, electric, works against everything

This is awesome guys! OK so cross referencing Pokéchess with Chess Opening Songs and assuming the transitive property holds, we can conclude that the Bongcloud works with Magikarp and Crank That, the French works with Chansey and Stairway to Heaven, the Najdorf works with Electrode and The Spark (OMG how perfect is that?!), the London works with Snorlax and the Canon in D (I can't right now, these are too good!), the Caro Kann works with Mewtwo and Look What You Made Me Do (too good especially given the 1998 Pokémon movie), and the Vienna Gambit works with Machamp and Wrecking Ball (unreal intersection again)! Just amazing! Let's keep these unconventional intersections coming! So fun!
