Hi Friends!

Hope you're doing well. Time for some early football overreactions from the CFB and NFL based on the first few weeks of play. Will some come true? Maybe, but most likely not. These are mostly ludicrous OVERreactions though some may feel plausible. Some will be teams we expect to be terrible who showed out with hyperbolic success conclusions. Others will be teams we expected to be great who looked awful with doomsday scenarios. Between my own and a few guest contributions from Vivaan and Dad, you're sure to identify with some of these gems! Get excited. Buckle up. Be ready to laugh out loud!

The Top 25 NFL & CFB Overreactions

Legend: A = NFL; B = CFB

A1: The Bears break the all-time scoring record

Look they dropped 59. They're on pace for over 1,000. The record is 606. We see you '13 Broncos P-Man.

A2: Tyler Shough is a legit MVP candidate

Look at the defenses they play! Ya can't spell Olave without love!

A3: The Rams will miss the playoffs

Wrecked by SF, brutal sched ahead.

A4: The Chiefs Dynasty is back

K9 OP! Swifties unite!

A5: The Chargers will miss the playoffs

You just got wrecked by Jacoby Brissett.

A6: Caleb Williams will throw for 5,000 yards

Best Bears teams since '85, frfr.

A7: The Seahawks Defense and Special Teams have to carry the squad

I mean we are Locked in... See what I did there?

A8: The Giants beat the Jets in the New York Subway Superbowl

ROTFLOL... Skatt is the GOAT

Okay real talk... Drake Maye is ABSOLUTELY HIM... The SEAHAWKS D just went SUPER SAIYAN in that 4th quarter.

A12: K9 will break EDs 1984 all-time single season rushing record (2,105 yards)!

He's on pace for 2,941 and looks unstoppable for the Chiefs. He didn't even play the last few series! Then again, one data point.

A13: There will be more fumbles lost than interceptions this season!

Strip sacks, WRs looking up field too early, RBs not holding on, watch out!

A14: Drew Lock will remain the starter for the Seahawks when Sam Darnold returns

A15: Bills go 20-0 (17 regular season + 3 playoffs) and get their first Super Bowl dub!

I mean Josh Allen might be Superman.

B16: Michigan is SO back after a dubious dub shaky start

They're 2-0 right? Right? There is ALWAYS another second. For them.

B17: Texas deserves the #1 ranking for the rest of the season

Try a little AI and PR training though.

B18: The ACC & Big 12 have teams who can compete with the big leagues

"Party in the city where the heat is on, all night on the beach 'til the break of dawn, welcome to Miami, bienvenidos a Miami" oh and those teams from Utah

B19: Drew Mestemaker for Heisman

I mean he did carry a team that hadn't won in a loooooooooooong time to a huge upset victory over natty contenders Oregon, just saying.

B20: U Dub needs to rely on their defense

Let's see if we can put up a few more points against Eastern Washington.

B21: Western Michigan will go 11-1 (let's be real it's 12-0, even the refs upon review agree) and make the playoffs

B22: Josh Hoover will lead the Hoosiers to a repeat Natty

Josh Hoover's passer rating is 284.9. Not a typo. That's sustainable :-D

B23: Oregon becomes unranked by Week 5

The Rams of the CFB. Mad individual talent. Bad team.

B24: Gunnar Stockton will be the 2027 NFL Draft #1 pick

Matt Stafford 2.0?

B25: The SEC is better than the Big 10

Good to know the SEC is putting Big Ten Football Preview on the locker room bulletin boards!
